Johnstown Reservoir
J-2 Contracting was contracted to the Town of Johnstown to replace the failing reservoir outlet under the supervision of the Colorado Division of Water Resources Dam Safety Department. The project primarily consisted of dewatering the reservoir, constructing a new concrete outlet and spillway tower, replacing a large section of the existing dam, riprap lined emergency spillway, toe drain, regrading and surfacing of the multi-use path around the reservoir, and the removal of approx. 19,000CY of Muck excavation to increase reservoir capacity. In addition to the work on the reservoir, J-2 also installed a back-up generator on a constructed foundation/pad with a split face CMU sound wall.
