Poudre Pond Pit – Greeley, CO

J-2 requires Site Specific Training per MSHA CFR Part 46 for all persons prior to entering the pit. Please note that all visitors to the Poudre Ponds Pit must check-in at the scale house to receive training. All visitors must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all time while in the gravel pit.

Persons delivering goods, performing services, collecting material, or visiting and inspecting this property; and who are not regular employees may encounter certain hazards during that time. Visitors to this property are subject to the requirements of the Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977, as well as any Company Safety procedures. Visitors must be made aware of site-specific hazards and any applicable safety procedures or rules. High Visibility vests are required at all times. Passenger vehicles are not allowed in any area. During your time on our property, observe all rules and regulations, including speed limits, and carefully follow all verbal instructions given by plant management or other authorized personnel. Immediately report to the plant supervisory personnel any unlisted hazard you may encounter. Your access is limited to designated areas. You are not cleared or trained to enter other areas at this facility. Failure to adhere to these requirements will constitute trespass, and you may be removed from as well as denied future access to the facilities. Please feel free to discuss any rule, or gain clarification about any matter of safety before you leave the office. (30 CFR Part 46 Section 46.11)

You must have a working CB Radio in your truck to haul from this location. Please use Channel 1. This channel is for Pit related conversation only. Speed Limit is 10 MPH

Personal Protective Equipment:

Do not enter restricted areas without wearing all posted safety equipment. If you must exit your vehicle, you must wear a hard hat and safety vest.

Obey all signs. The Pit Superintendent has the right to restrict anyone from entering the pit.
Use or being under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance is prohibited. Possession of illegal drugs, alcohol, guns or weapons is prohibited within the property.
Use of hand-held cell phones is not permitted while driving in the pit. You must pull over to a safe area before initiating a call.
Be familiar with all MSDS’S for all hazardous materials you may contact while on the mine site.

Accidents & Emergencies:

For Emergencies, dial 911.
Report all accidents, emergencies, and near misses to the supervisor or scale house.
In the Case of an Emergency, assemble at the scale house.

The preceding hazard training has been discharged in accordance with our approved training plan. You shall fully indemnify and hold harmless from any and all liability, loss or expense (including attorney’s fees, expert witness fees and costs) incurred as a result of your negligence or omissions at this site.
